GROUP LESSONS - School of Fish levels

Group classes are held throughout the week at the pool and involve small classes and direct interaction with the instructor for maximum progression. All group lessons are 30 minutes in duration. The School of Fish levels are as follows:    

 

JELLYFISH - Babies and Toddler classes from 4 months. See Jellyfish.

Ages 3 years to 16 years

STARFISH - General adaptation to water, including breathing, submerging and complete freedom of movement in the water without the use of floatation aids.    (Max. 4 pupils) (30 mins)

SEAHORSE - Floatation (the essential base for all strokes) is emphasised, correct body position achieved and leg kicks on front and back introduced.         (Max. 4 pupils) (30 mins)

MINNOW - Developing the skills from the Seahorse level. Students learn the arm actions for front and backcrawl. Lateral breathing is introduced for frontcrawl. (Max. 4 pupils) (30 mins)

BARRACUDA - This level concentrates on correct technique and most of the class is conducted in deep water. Butterfly kicks are introduced to show the importance of body movement in all strokes. (Max. 6 pupils) (30 mins)

SWORDFISH - Developing skills from the Barracuda level. Distance stamina is emphasised. Breaststroke and butterfly kicks are strengthened. Racing dives and turns are taught. (Max. 6 pupils) (30 mins)

DOLPHIN - Perfection of technique is combined with stamina work on front and backcrawl. Full execution of both breaststroke and butterfly is learnt. Tumbleturns and starts are taught. (Max. 8 pupils) (30mis)

SHARK - Timing, rhythm and stroke count is improved in all four strokes. Medley swimming and race swimming is incorporated. (Max. 8 pupils) (30 mins)
