SCHOOL OF FISH SWIM SCHOOL

Opened on April 2nd 2007, the School of Fish Swim School is the first of it's kind in Ipswich, Suffolk. The teaching and coaching of swimming technique will take place in a purpose built 15m pool in the heart of Ipswich.

School of Fish involves a structured program for babies through to teens. Various techniques and small group classes enable a fast progression. Each stage has a number of key elements which need to be successfully completed before entering the next level. How this program and method of teaching differs from others is evident in the early stages. Correct body position is a priority rather than 'survival'. Although gaining correct body position and buoyancy may take time, later stages will enable the swimmer to have a better understanding of the water, thus improving at a greater speed.

The organisation of the program is divided into eight fish levels: Jellyfish (baby & toddler), Starfish, Seahorse, Minnow, Barracuda, Swordfish, Dolphin and Shark. The various fish levels and certification allow an enjoyable element to play a part in the child's progression. The ability of each swimmer, in each group, will remain consistent allowing each teaching point to be of benefit. All lessons aim to be intensive and enjoyable for every individual.

After progressing through all the levels, the swimmer will be ready for club swimming which this school offers in the form of the Flying Fish (Tech Swimming).

If a swimmer prefers individual or a tailor made lesson then Private Lessons are offered. Adults of any age will also greatly benefit from individual lessons, which are offered to every level of swimmer. The school also supports underwater analysis and has a current machine for triathletes and club swimmers wanting to fine tune their style.

"Take the plunge!"
